Funeral services for Grace Hatch, age 80, of Brainerd, will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at 2 PM at Zion Lutheran Church in Milaca with Rev. Tim Bauer officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Milaca. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Music will be provided by Cheryl Bailey and Sophie Bauer. Her children will service as casketbearers. Her granddaughter, Destinee Wood, will serve as honorary casketbearer. Arr. Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home of Milaca.
Grace Clareen Hatch was born August 13, 1930 in Milaca, MN to Edward and Henrietta (Korf) Johnson. She grew up and attended school in Milaca. She married Clifford Hatch on June 7, 1947 in Milaca. Through their married life they made their home in Milaca, Coon Rapids, Longville, Backus, Cross Lake and Brainerd. They also spent many winters in the Rio Grande Valley in Texas. She enjoyed bingo, fishing, traveling, cooking and entertaining family and friends. She will be remembered as a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and for her wonderful sense of humor. She died peacefully with her family by her side on December 23, 2010 at St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd.
She is survived by her husband, Clifford; sons, Wayne “Bud” (Elizabeth) of Chaska, MN, Danny (Janna) of Cape Coral, FL, Richard and Johnny of Ramsey, MN and David of Burnsville; daughter, Donna Larson Hatch of Brainerd; 13 grandchildren, Laurie, Keith, Dan Jr., Jesse, Tianna, Shawn, Alicia, Jeremy, Justin, Amanda, Andrea, Jennifer and Destinee; 9 great-grandchildren, Casey, Destiny, Anthony, Reign, Faith, Grace, Luke, Samuel and Dakota; brother, Iver (Shirley) Johnson; sister, Alma (Gordon) Siemers; also by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and granddaughter, Shawnna Lee Hatch at the age of 5 weeks.
