Memorial services for Clarence Hardy, age 83, of Milaca, will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at 11 AM at Milaca Evangelical Free Church with Rev. Tom Sahlstrom and Rev. Don Matheson. Visitation will
be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Clarence Edwin Hardy was born September 3, 1927 in Annandale, MN to Emil and Alma (Salmela) Hardy. At a young age, he moved with his family northeast of Milaca and later north of Bock. Clarence served in the US Army from 1950 -1952. He was united in marriage to Ardis Gustafson on September 10, 1954 at the Milaca Evangelical Free Church. They made their home in Milaca and for a few years Clarence worked at Foley Manufacturing in Minneapolis. He then worked at the Ford Garage in Milaca, the Milaca Creamery, as a Watkins salesman, Milaca Mills and at the Princeton Elim Home. Clarence also worked for many years as a self-employed painter. He was a member of the Milaca Free Church where he served as a trustee and on the deacon board. He
enjoyed fishing and deer hunting. He died on Thursday, December 30,
2010 at the Milaca Elim Home.
He is survived by his wife, Ardis; daughter, Marie (Jim) Brown of Minneapolis; son, Mark Hardy of Las Vegas, NV; sisters, Gladys Payne, Lorraine Lundstrom, Jane Totzke and Millie Bourgeois;
brothers, Donald Hardy, Melvin Hardy and Robert Hardy; also by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Richard Dean; brothers, Lawrence
Hardy, Raymond Hardy, Bill Hardy and Jim Hardy; sisters, Violet
Larsen, Lillian Hamm, Evelyn Stark, Rose Antle and infant, Mabel.
