Funeral services for Janice R. Woken, age 55, of Bock, will be held Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home in Milaca. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Casketbearers will include Brian Niedzielski, Daniel Niedzielski, James Watson, Jason Woken, Joshua Watson, Michael Anderson, and Patrick Anderson. Interment will follow at the Borgholm Cemetery near Bock.
Janice Rhae Woken was born October 18, 1955 at Minneapolis, Minnesota to Goodwin and Helen (Kucharek) Johnson. She graduated from Spring Lake Park High School in 1973. She was united in marriage to Mark Woken on June 23, 1973 at Faith Lutheran Church in Coon Rapids, Minnesota.
She was a stay at home mom until the kids started school. She then worked at Jerry’s Place, Casino Pizza, and the Milaca Elim Home. She was promoted from dietary assistant, to cook, to dietary manager, and finally to certified protection personnel. She received her C.D.M. and C.F.F.P. in 1997. Most recently, she worked for Olson’s SuperValu/Teal’s Market in Milaca.
Janice enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, plants, animals, BBQs with family and friends, and listening to music. Doing crossword puzzles was a way for her to unwind. Spending quality time with all of her grandchildren and family meant the most to her.
Janice passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at her residence near Bock.
She is survived by her husband, Mark; daughter, Westerly (Jamison) Anderson of Isle, Minnesota and son, Justin Woken (Juanita Baker) of Ogilvie, Minnesota; four grandchildren, Isabel, Isaac, and Ilijah Anderson, and Chloe Woken; two brothers, Roger (Bonnie) Johnson of Dalbo, Minnesota and Edwin Johnson of Bock, Minnesota; one sister, Jerry (Jim) Niedzielski of Ogilvie, Minnesota; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Baby John; and sister, Delilah M. Anderson.
