Luther Wayne Johnson

Funeral services for Luther Johnson, age 77, of Houston, TX, formerly of Mora, will be held on Monday, January 17, 2011 at 1 PM at Milaca Evangelical Free Church with Rev. Vernon Lund officiating. Interment will follow at Borgholm Cemetery near Bock. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Luther Johnson was born to Alfred and Minnie Johnson near Foley, MN on Sept. 26,1933. He died in Houston, TX Jan. 12, 2011. He graduated from Foley High School in 1952. He married Eunice Jensen of Bock, MN. Oct. 2, 1953. Most of his life was lived in Mora, MN, he worked for Federal Cartridge in Anoka and later he and Eunice were Shakely distributors. He was active in Emmanuel Baptist Church in Mora. He loved to sing and sang with the Watchmen Men's Chorus. In retirement he moved to Houston, TX. He is survived by his wife Eunice, a son Charles (Susan) Johnson, a daughter Sharon of Houston,TX, a daughter Catherine (Mark) Swanson of Marlton, N.J., four grandchildren; Hannah Johnson,and Eric, Christine and Tim Swanson. Brothers, Howard (Arlene) Johnson of Lacey, WA, a sister Priscilla Mohrenweiser of Mpls, MN and sister Erma (Robert) Bergstrom of Milaca, sister-in-law Phyllis Johnson of Milaca, sister-in-law Gerraine Johnson of Carol Stream, IL and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Myron, Ralph, Gordon and Silas and sisters Thelma and Leona.
