Henrietta Schreur

Funeral services for Henrietta Schreur, age 87, of Milaca, will be held on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at 11 AM at the Christian Reformed Church in Pease with Pastor David Smit officiating. Interment will follow at the Pease Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 – 8 PM on Monday and 1 hour prior to the service both at the church. Music will be provided by Lois Roelofs. Casketbearers will include Jeff Huisman, Seth Schreur, Micah Schreur, Tom Kiel, Dave Pearson and Harv Schreur. Arr. Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home of Milaca. Henrietta Schreur was born near Pease, MN on February 13, 1923 to Haijo and Cora (Rensenbrink) Kiel. She attended the Pease Christian School and the Pease Christian Reformed Church and later the Bethel Christian Reformed Church. On February 28, 1947, she was united in marriage to Ben Schreur. To the marriage four children were born: Harvey, Shirley and a son and a daughter who died at birth. Ben and Henrietta farmed together for twenty-five years in Bogus Brook Township. Henrietta participated in many church and school activities. She always served in her quiet and humble way, delighting in others. She loved traveling, playing games and reading. She took great joy in her family, showing them endless love as she gave herself to them. She was always an example of Christian love and faithfulness to her family and all who knew her. She died on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at the Milaca Elim Home. Henrietta is survived by her children, Harvey (Karen) Schreur and Shirley (Dave) Pearson, her loving grandchildren and their spouses and by several great-grandchildren; brothers, Laurence Kiel and Haijo (Hermina) Kiel; sister- in-law, Jennie Kiel. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben; two infant children; brothers, Peter and Henry and sisters-in-law, Lily, Gertie and Donna.
