Funeral services for Francis Radke, age 74, of Coon Rapids, will be held on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at 1 PM at Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home with Rev. Adrian Bolt officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Tuesday. Casketbearers will be Mike Sanders, Josh Sanders, Jake Radke, Sam Radke, Ron Radke and Mark Radke. Francis Edward Radke was born December 12, 1936 in Hayward, WI to Robert and Dollie (Conner) Radke. He graduated from Milaca High School. He was united in marriage to Karen Larsen in 1958 in Milaca, MN. They made their home in Coon Rapids, MN and Francis worked as a mechanic for the US Postal Service from 1959 to 1984. He was preceded in death by his wife Karen in 1982. Francis married Joyce Nelson in 1983 and she later preceded him in death in 1999. Francis loved life and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a “pack rat” who saved everything. He passed away at his home in Coon Rapids on Thursday, January 20, 2011. He is survived by his children, Sue (Mike) Sanders of New Auburn, WI and Darwin (Cheryl) Radke of Siren, WI; grandchildren, Mike Sanders, Jr., Josh Sanders, Jake Radke, Sarah Radke and Sam Radke; great-grandchildren, Makanzie Sanders, Lily Sanders, Payton Sanders, Madyson Sanders and Bailey Sanders; brothers, Bernard (Mary) Radke of New York and Ralph (Sharon) Radke of Minnesota; step-children, Lynette (Timothy) Johnson and family, LaRae (Gregory) Olson and family and Alan (Sue) Nelson and family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Dollie; wives, Karen and Joyce and brother, David.
