Mass of Christian Burial for Pearl F. Holewa, age 78, of Foley, will be held Saturday, February 12, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Elizabeth Catholic Church in Brennyville with Father Dan Walz officiating. Visitation will be held Friday, February 11, 2011 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home and also one hour prior to services at the church Saturday morning. Providing music for the service will be by the Saint Elizabeth Choir and Alan Godage. Casketbearers will be Erick Martinson, Jr., Scott Hoskins, Jr., Rick Schwartz, Bob Scherer, Paul Scherer, Devin Sonterre, Ken Scherer, Jr., and John Holewa, Jr. Burial will take place in the church cemetery. Pearl Frances Holewa was born October 14, 1932 at Minto, North Dakota to Stanley and Polly (Schultz) Lizakowski. She was united in marriage to Frank Holewa on October 14, 1952 at Warsaw, North Dakota. She enjoyed canning, feeding the birds, gardening, embroidering, quilting (Saint Mary’s Quilting Mission), and Christian Mothers. She is survived by three daughters, Kathleen (Erick) Martinson of Princeton, Minnesota, Shirley (Joe) Carnine of Amery, Wisconsin, and Susan (Luis) Vazquez of Princeton, Minnesota; seven grandchildren, Tracy (Jim) Carroll of Ogilvie, Minnesota, Erick (Holly) Martinson, Jr. of Elk River, Minnesota, Amanda (Arlyn) Wall of Milaca, Minnesota, Scott Hoskins, Jr. of Princeton, Minnesota, Jennifer (Greg) Luchtenburg of Amery, Wisconsin, Sherri (Jesse) Freese of Milaca, Minnesota and Laura (Bill) Anderson of Melrose, Minnesota; twelve great-grandchildren, Devin Sonterre, Vanessa Sonterre, Alec Wall, Esmee’ Luchtenburg, Tylin Carroll, Kaydin Carroll, Ella Freese, Wyatt Luchtenburg, Ysabella Anderson, Frances (Frannie) Freese, Arycin Wall and Erick Martinson, III; sister Lillian Byzewski of Lakeville, Minnesota; twin brother, Stanley (Mary) Lizakowski of Waconia, Minnesota; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pearl was preceded in death by parents; husband, Frank; infant daughter, Mary; brothers, Sylvester, Earl, and Bert. Pearl passed away Wednesday, February 02, 2011 in Princeton at the age of 78 years, 3 months, and 19 days.
