Mass of Christian Burial for Margaret Mary Roehl, age 83, of Oak Park, will be held on Monday, February 21, 2011 at 11 AM at St. Louis Catholic Church in Foreston with Fr. Jim Remmerswaal, OSC officiating. Interment will follow at St. Louis Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 – 8 PM on Sunday and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday both at the St. Louis Catholic Church. A prayer service will be held at 7:15 PM on Sunday at St. Louis Church. Arr. Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home of Milaca.
Margaret Mary Roehl was born December 1, 1927 in Page Township, Mille Lacs County, MN to Andrew and Victoria (Schimnich) Kosel. Growing up she attended the Tibbetts Brook School and graduated from Milaca High School in 1945. She married Francis Roehl on June 14, 1955 in Foreston, MN. They made their home on the family farm near Oak Park, MN. Margaret was a member of the St. Louis Catholic Church where she was a member of the Christian Mothers Club. She enjoyed being a grandmother, homemaker, gardening and raising flowers, fishing and she was a master cribbage player. The work and joy of her life were raising her children and instilling in them her strong Christian faith. She died on Thursday, February 17, 2011 at the St. Cloud Hospital.
She is survived by her husband, Francis “Jiggs”; children, Theresa (Tom) Carlson of Crystal, MN, Karen (Jim) Goodin of Princeton, Eileen (David) Pikus of Oswego, IL, Dan (Denise) Roehl of Milaca, Bernie Roehl of Plymouth and Jerry Roehl of Oak Park; 14 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sisters, Catherine Sadowski of Elk River and Rosalie Hinnenkamp of St. Paul; also by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Harold, Andrew, Wil and Gil.
