Funeral services for Micah Roelofs, age 12, of Princeton, will be held on Monday, March 28, 2011 at 11 AM at the New Life Church in Princeton. Interment will follow at Pease Cemetery in Pease. Visitation will be from 4 – 8 PM on Sunday at the New Life Church in Princeton and 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
Micah Jay Roelofs was born on May 27, 1998 to Tom and Mary (Wolbert) Roelofs in Princeton, Minnesota. Micah was a seventh grader at Faith Christian School in Foreston, MN. He served on the student council and enjoyed basketball and soccer.Micah was a member of the New Life Church in Princeton where he was on the Bible Quiz team and participated on the National Team. Micah accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at a young age. "Even a child makes himself know by his acts, whether what he does is pure and right." Proverbs 20:11.
His relationship with Jesus was lived out every day in the choices he made and the example he set to others. Micah loved serving in the church coffee shop, nursery, and Kid's Zone youth program. At home, Micah’s servant heart was helping with the family foster care, farming chores, and being a loving family member to siblings and cousins. Micah enjoyed hunting with his dad and was involved in the Milaca wrestling program.
Micah died on Thursday, March 24, 2011 from the result of a single car accident on County Road 5 south of Milaca.
He is survived by his parents, Tom and Mary (Wolbert) Roelofs of Princeton; siblings, Tyler Roelofs and wife, Dani of Pease, Maryssa Roelofs and fiance, Kyle Pruett, Tasha, Mariah and Trevor Roelofs at home; maternal grandparents, Marlyn and Marlys Wolbert of Pease; paternal grandparents, Bud and Carol Berg of Milaca; also many aunts, uncles, cousin and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by paternal grandfather Merle Roelofs.
