Funeral services for Beulah L. Halland, age 91, of Milaca, will be held Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at 11 AM at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Milaca with Rev. Tom Sahlstrom officiating. Visitation will be 10 – 11 AM on Tuesday at the church. Providing music for the service will be Cheryl Bailey and Ann Johnson. Casketbearers will be Jack Allen, Kurt Allen, Erik Halland, Andy Kampa, Wesley Siemers, and Todd Hendrickson. Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery. Memorials will be to Trinity Lutheran Church.
Beulah Lee Halland was born to Oliver and Carrie (Eikum) Lee on October 06, 1919 at Westbrook, Minnesota. Shortly after that, her parents moved to Lamberton, Minnesota, where she grew up and graduated from high school. She was united in marriage to Burton Halland and they resided in Saint Cloud, Minnesota and also Two Rivers, Wisconsin, before moving to Milaca in 1951. In 1955, they purchased the Ford Garage and she worked there for ten years until she retired in 1977.
She enjoyed fishing, playing bridge, watching the Minnesota Twins, and cooking and baking for her family. The holidays were always spent making lefse, baking, and spending time with grandchildren.
Beulah was a long-time member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Milaca, where she took part in many activities. Among them were: serving on the council, teaching Sunday school class, being on the prayer chain, the worship committee, and also serving at funerals. She was also a long-time member of the Eastern Star. She died peacefully with her family by her side at Milaca Elim Home on Saturday, June 11, 2011.
She is survived by daughter; Judith (John) Allen of Coon Rapids and son, Dan (Jean) of Nisswa; four grandchildren, Jack Allen, Kurt (Rebekka) Allen, Erik Halland, and Kristina (Andy) Kampa; four great-grandchildren, Emily and Kaitlyn Allen, and Finn and Leif Kampa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Burton in 1998; son, Kurt; two sisters, Carol Perry and Phyllis Watkins; and two brothers, Herb Lee and Robert Lee.
