Virginia Irene Goebel

Funeral services for Virginia Goebel, age 88, of Milaca will be held on Monday, October 10, 2011 at 11 AM at Milaca Alliance Church with Rev. Don Smith and Rev. Tom Sahlstrom officiating. Interment will follow at Spring Brook Cemetery in Swanville, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Music will be provided by Debbie Vedders and Jenine Swanson. Casketbearers will include Ray Richardson, Eugene Richardson, Laren Sauter, Terry Sauter, Gale Sauter, Robert Engstrom and Antone Wass. Arr. Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home of Milaca. Virginia Irene Goebel was born October 13, 1922 in Swanville, MN to Leo and Elsie (Schrupp) Goebel. She grew up near Swanville and graduated from Swanville High School. Virginia then moved to St. Paul and worked as a secretary for Shaw Lumber and Larry’s Glass until her retirement. She then moved to Milaca and later resided at the Milaca Elim Home. She died on Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at Milaca Elim Home. She is survived by sisters, Leah (Walter) Kreie of Minot, ND and Glenna (Clarence) Sauter of Milaca; four nephews; two nieces; also by other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Elsie and sister, Gurene.
