Mass of Christian Burial for Rosalia “Mae” Van Heel, age 88, of Foreston, will be held Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Saint Louis Catholic Church in Foreston with Father James Remmerswaal, OSC officiating. Visitation will be held Friday, November 11 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home in Milaca, and one hour prior to services at the church Saturday morning. There will be a rosary service at 7:30 p.m. Interment will follow at the Saint Louis Cemetery.
Rosalia Marie Van Heel was born September 28, 1923 to Bernard and Cecelia (Kersting) Feldeverd in Grove Township in Stearns County, Minnesota. She married Jerome Van Heel October 13, 1948 in New Munich. The couple resided in Saint Cloud and Sartell. The couple resided near Foreston since August 1958.
Rose was an active member of the Saint Louis Catholic Church. She taught religious education for many years and was a member of the Christian Mothers. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, reading, music, quilting, word finds, and more recently, her friends and activities at the Elim Oasis.
Rose passed away Tuesday, November 08, 2011 at the Fairview Northland Regional Hospital in Princeton.
She is survived by four daughters, Mildred Alfano of Hilliard, OH, Patricia (Arthur, Jr.) Popp of Rice, Linda Jokela of Foreston, Jane (Scott) Ferber of Foreston; five sons, Michael (Debbie) of Spokane, WA, Gerard (Michelle) of Saint Paul, Bernard (Margie) of Echo, John (Myrlene) of Tallulah, LA, and Leo (Glenda) of Foreston; 18 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Veronica Toenies, Rita Ritter, Marcella Hollermann, and Mary Ann Hollermann; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by parents; husband, Jerome; brother, Joe Feldeverd; sisters, Marie Thoemes and Helen Hellermann; and infant grandchildren, Emma, Tristan, and Walter Ferber; sons-in-law, David Jokela, Sr. and Dr. Anthony Alfano.
