Alice passed away suddenly Saturday, February 11, 2012 at her home in Pease.
Alice was born October 14, 1935 to John and Bertha (Byker) Santema on the family farm in Bogus Brook Twp., SE of Pease.
Alice attended Community Christian School in Pease and Milaca High School. She worked at Presley Drug Store in Milaca and after graduating high school, moved to Denver, CO with a girlfriend where she worked at a pharmacy and met her husband, Ray Mosley, who was stationed there in the Air Force. They married in 1955 and moved to England where Ray served in the Air Force. They were also stationed in Albuquerque, NM where Donna was born, Lompoc, CA, Couvron, France where Karen was born, and Ogden, UT. Alice moved back to Pease with their two daughters to live with her mother while Ray served in Vietnam. Upon his completion in the Air Force they settled in Pease and another daughter Carol was born.
Alice enjoyed being a homemaker and loved hosting family tea parties after church every Sunday. She was a lifelong member of Pease Church. Her faith in the Lord was foremost in her life and it was very evident to those around her. You could find Alice in her usual church pew any given Sunday. Alice very much enjoyed her time with her grandchildren. They knew (and their friends knew) that there were always 4-5 kinds of homemade cookies in the freezer.
Her hobbies included sewing, gardening, yard work, watching and feeding the birds, puzzles, and taking family photos of anyone willing to hold a pose. She also enjoyed getting together with friends to play cards. Alice always made sure no one left her house hungry. She was always baking and cooking and just recently finally got her blue dining room. It was the only color in her world!
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Karen, husband, Ray, brother Harris, and grandson, Elias.
She is survived by two daughters, Donna (Dean) Angermeier of Milaca and Carol (Lee) Lloyd of Princeton; two brothers, Sid (Fran) Santema of Cokato, MN and John (Brenda) Santema of Milaca, MN; son-in-law Jim Nelson of Anoka, MN; grandchildren, Ryan Angermeier, Jennessa Nelson, Michael Angermeier, Adam Angermeier, Marcus Lloyd, Alexis Lloyd, and Alyvia Lloyd; sisters-in-law, Shirley Santema of Milaca, MN and Joann Holmquist of Flint, MI; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
