Lawrence D. Timmer was born July 26, 1926 to Jerry & Maggie (Kuperus) Timmer at Bogus Brook Township, Mille Lacs County, MN. He graduated from Milaca High School. Lawrence was united in marriage to Sylvia Van De Riet on October 6, 1948 at Pease, MN. Lawrence loved spending time with his kids and grandkids and great grandkids. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, playing cards and of course giving rides to grandkids and great grandkids on his John Deere lawn mower. He served in the US Army during WW II from October 1944-November 1946. Lawrence was a farmer, salesman, and vocational school custodian. He enjoyed time out on the boat with his friends and on the golf course. He loved to be outdoors as much as he could, growing vegetables in his garden, growing flowers, and keeping his lawn looking great. Lawrence enjoyed family vacations at the lake in the summer, trips to the deer hunting cabin up north and the fishing trips to Canada both with his relatives and friends. In the winter painting nativity sets and miniature houses were a favorite past time. He was a long time member of the Willmar Christian Reformed church where he served as an elder, and also was very involved in the Friendship series Bible Study with mentally challenged adults. Lawrence and Sylvia moved back to their farm in Pease in August of 2007. He was surrounded by his family when he was taken into glory on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at the St. Cloud Hospital.
