Funeral service for Bessie Haag, age 100, of Milaca, will be held on Friday, March 16 at 1 PM at Milaca Christian Missionary Alliance Church with Rev. Don Smith and Rev. Tom Sahlstrom officiating. Interment will follow at Dalbo Baptist Cemetery near Dalbo. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Music will be provided by Bev Berghuis and Veronica Johnson. Casketbearers will include Steve Warren, Michael Warren, David Warren, Ron Haag, Rusty Haag and Tony Duff. Arr. Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home of Milaca.
Bessie Blanche Haag was born June 20, 1911 on a farm near Winnetoon, NE to James and Carrie (French) Hildreth. She attended Wayne State College in Nebraska where she earned a degree in education, and she taught at many rural schools in Nebraska. Bessie was united in marriage to Russell Haag on August 25, 1930. They lived in Nebraska, South Dakota and Oregon before moving to a farm near Dalbo, MN where they raised their four children. Bessie worked for several years at the Princeton Veterinary Clinic. She will be remembered for her love of life and she loved life on the farm. She enjoyed people and spending time with family and friends. During her retirement years she moved to Country Meadows Assisted Living in Milaca. Bessie passed away on Monday, March 12, 2012 at Country Meadows.
She is survived by her children, Carolyn Warren of Dalbo, Gene (Sylvia) Haag of Coon Rapids and Charlotte (Dave) Lynch of Fullerton, CA; 16 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 24 great-great-grandchildren; also by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell in 1995; daughter, Janice; two sons-in-law; three grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; three sisters and three brothers.
