Memorial service for Mary Lou Ann Mattson, age 77, of Foreston, will be held on Thursday, May 31, 2012 at 11 AM at the Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home in Milaca with Rev. Stephen Blenkush officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Thursday. There will be a casual gathering at the homestead for anyone on Wednesday at the homestead near Foreston. Mary Lou Ann Mattson was born October 4, 1934 to John and Amanda Hauschild near Ivanhoe, MN, where she grew up on the family farm. She was united in marriage to James Mattson on September 2, 1954 and they started their family in the Twin Cities. They moved to Foreston in June of 1969 and they lived there the remainder of their lives. She had an amazing gift of being able to talk to anyone about anything. She enjoyed listening to her many CDs of various type, “putzing” around in her many flower gardens, spending time with her family and friends, going to the Auction House in Foreston and volunteering at the Pearl Crisis Center in Milaca. She died on Friday, May 25, 2012 at her home near Foreston. She is survived by her children Jerry (Kristie) of Marion, IA, Dennis (Elaine) of Foreston and Betsy (Jeff) Gerads of Royalton; grandchildren, James, Kristine, Nicholas, Stephanie, Jay, Travis and Patricia; great-grandchildren, Dustin, Clayton, Seth, Lilly, Chloe and Skyyler; sisters, Mildred Josephson and Carol (Don) Harms; brother, Arnie Hauschild; also by many cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, James in June of 2005 and her parents.
