Ruby Viola Johnson

Funeral service for Ruby Johnson, age 91, of Milaca, will be held on Friday, June 15, 2012 at 11 AM at Estes Brook Evangelical Free Church with Rev. Wes Macy officiating. Interment will follow at the Estes Brook Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 – 7 PM Thursday at Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home in Milaca and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Ruby Viola Johnson was born September 4, 1920 to Emil and Hilda (Sjoblom) Johnson in Oak Park, MN. She attended District 57 country school in Benton County and Trinity Bible School in Chicago, IL. As a young adult, Ruby worked at Clark Manufacturing in Rockford, IL. For many years she worked in Dietary at Princeton Elim Home and at Foley Nursing Home. Her favorite game was Scrabble and she could beat anyone. Ruby lived at the Milaca Park Apartments for 20 years and loved to volunteer at the senior dining site. She treasured her faith, her church and her family and friends. Ruby died on Sunday, June 10, 2012 at the Milaca Elim Home. She is survived by her brother, Alvin (Elsie) Johnson of Estes Brook; sister-in-law, Shirley Johnson of Milaca; nieces and nephews, Ruth Anne Olson, Lee (Sue) Seagren, Les (Sally) Seagren, Larry (Cindy) Seagren, Karen (Bob) Strausberger, Sally (Mark) Sulc, Sandy (Gary) Osborne, Jerry (Christy) Johnson, Cindy (William) Ferguson, Sharon (David) Jamison, Norris (Trudy) Johnson, Linda (Bruce) Henne, Kathy (Steve) Orton, Jan (Bruce) Johnson and Brenda (Tim) Dukowitz. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Verna and brothers, Kenneth and Rolin.
