Betty Jane Miller

Funeral service for Betty Miller, age 74, of Milaca, will be held on Thursday, July 26, 2012 at 10:30 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Milaca with Rev. Tim Bauer officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Milaca. Visitation will be from 5 – 8 PM on Wednesday at Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home in Milaca and 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Music will be provided by Cheryl Bailey and Darwin Bruesewitz. Merrie Miller will speak of behalf of the family. Casketbearers will include her seven grandchildren, Tyler Etter, Tiffany Etter, Derek Ruis, Sabrina Ruis, Seth Miller, Eric Miller, and Heidi Miller. Honorary casketbearers will include her six great-grandchildren, Chelsea Etter, Cameron Wills, Julia Propson, Joshua Etter, Matthew Etter and Anthony Etter. Arr. Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home of Milaca. Betty Jane Miller was born March 26, 1938 in Hayland Township to William and Louise (Schaefer) Manthie. Betty attended Ogilvie High School. On December 4, 1954 she was married to Dale Miller in Milaca, MN. They lived in Milaca, MN since 1956. Betty was employed by the Milaca Elim Home for 32 years. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Milaca, American Legion Auxiliary, and VFW Auxiliary. Betty enjoyed many hobbies including painting rocks, gardening on a sunny day, and baking delicious goodies for her family and friends. She also enjoyed playing bingo and relaxing with her three little dogs on her favorite chair. Betty passed away on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at the Fairview Northland Regional Hospital in Princeton. Betty is survived by her husband of 57 years, Dale; children, Dale (Merrie) Miller Jr. of Eden Valley, Marla (Dale) Etter of Mora, and Mardell (Glenn) Ruis of Aitkin; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Margaret Hansen, Lucille Hallin, Louella Nelson, Albert Manthie, and Eugene Manthie. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and one sister.
