Funeral service for Leon Hatch, age 79, of Princeton, formerly of Milaca, will be held on Thursday, August 30 at 2 PM at Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home in Milaca with Rev. Stephen Blenkush officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Milaca. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Thursday. Casketbearers will include Troy Hatch, Darrin Hatch, Danny Hatch, Bill Bachman, John Olson and Rocky Hatch. Music will be provided by Cheryl Bailey and Debbie Vedders. Arr. Leon Roy Hatch was born March 26, 1933 to Arthur and Elsie (Sandeen) Hatch at home northwest of Milaca. He grew up in the Milaca area and attended country school. Leon was united in marriage to Ardelia Court on July 30, 1955 in Calumet, MN. They lived in Minneapolis, the Iron Range and many other places before settling in Princeton in 1977. Leon worked for Twin City Tool and Die for many years as a metal fabricator. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends. He died on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at the Fairview Northland Regional Hospital in Princeton.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ardelia; son, Rodney (Laurie) Hatch of Princeton; granddaughters, Kyla Hatch and Devon Hatch; great-grandson, Josiah Kiekhafer; brothers, Gerald of Milaca, Manfred (Martha) of Crystal and Elmer (Ramona) of Onamia; sisters, Sylvia Aleshire of Little Falls and Ardell Bachman of Cambridge; step-brother, Clifford Hatch of Brainerd; also by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Morris, Chester and Carl and sister, Jeanette.
