Memorial service for Helen Ulstad, age 72, of Princeton, will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 11 AM at Zimmerman Evangelical Free Church with Rev. Tom Sterneman officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Interment will take place at the MN State Veterans Cemetery at Little Falls at a later date. Music will be provided by Roger Olson and Kara Spofford.
Helen Marie Ulstad was born November 28, 1939 to Harry and Mabel (Grandy) Swanson in Hayland Township, MN. She graduated from Princeton High School. She was united in marriage to Gillman Ulstad on May 7, 1966.
Helen worked at Dohrn Transfer for five years and then for the Spring Lake Park School District until her retirement. They raised their family in Fridley and then the couple moved to Princeton in 1999.
Helen enjoyed going out for coffee with friends, knitting, crocheting, sewing, shopping, and playing the piano.
She passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at the Princeton Elim Home.
She is survived by her husband, Gillman, of Princeton; sons, Mark of Blaine and Troy of Spring Lake Park; grandchildren, Cody, Taylor, Nathanial and Collin; brother, Melvin (Ruth) Swanson of Bloomington; sisters, Lucille Swanson of Foley and Cheryl (Lee) Steinbrecher of Princeton; also by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
