Rebecca Dawn Grahn

Memorial service for Becky Grahn, age 60, of Princeton, formerly of Foreston and Sierra Vista, AZ, will be held on Friday, November 30, 2012 at 5 PM at Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home in Milaca with Rev. Perry Johnson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the service at the funeral home on Friday. Interment will take place at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls at a later date. Rebecca Dawn (Johnson) Grahn was born in Morris, MN to Duane F. and Helen Jane (VanKempen) Johnson on December 27th, 1951. Her maternal grandmother, Myrtle, told the proud parents, “That baby is so homely, she’s almost cute”. Becky attended school in Fridley, MN from the second grade through her junior years. She graduated from Milaca High with the Class of ’69. She spent her college years at the University of Minnesota-Morris. While in Morris, she worked at Myrtle’s Fashionette, the Diamond Club, KMRS/KKOK radio, the VFW Club and gave private piano and guitar lessons. Becky also worked as a single entertainer at the Sunwood Inn and with the bands; Colorado, Norm and the Travelers, KMRS/KKOK, and The Two Bit Band. In Milaca, her first job after graduation was at The Sportsmans Cafe. When Becky returned to Milaca in 1985, she found work at Medtronic –where she stayed until 1998. Becky also entertained at the Milaca American Legion when they first started dinners on Friday and Saturday nights. That’s where she met “the nicest and best-looking single guy in her life”! Becky and Jerry Grahn were married on Monday, February 29th, 1988 (leap-day). They had just celebrated their 5th wedding anniversary in 2008. Jerry preceded her in death on May 31st that year. Becky was preceded in death by husband, Jerome; her parents, Duane and Helen Jane Johnson, her grandparents, Robert and Myrtle (Johnson) VanKempen, Linus and Emily (Swanson) Johnson, brother-in-law, Duane Grahn, and her aunt, Shirley Johnson. Becky is survived by two brothers, Jeffrey and his wife, Trudy; Guy and his special friend, Lisa; sister, Wendy Jane Bursch and husband, Kevin; brother-in-law Thomas and wife, Diane; uncle Walden Johnson and wife, Agnes. Becky is also survived by her beloved dogs, Gracie Rae and Henry James who both live in Sierra Vista, AZ.
