Helmut Walter Dietz

Funeral service for Helmut Dietz, age 81, of Milaca, will be held on Thursday, December 27 at 11 AM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church near Longsiding with Rev. Barb Peterson officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Milaca. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Music will be provided by Jean Jackson and Connie Jacobson. Arr. Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home of Milaca. Helmut Walter Dietz was born to Henry and Gertrude (Smith) Dietz near Milaca, MN on August 19, 1931. He was baptized on September 27, 1931 at the Greenbush Schulhaus. He grew up near Milaca and attended Hillcrest #29 Country School. He farmed all of his life and his other passion was driving truck for Skoquist Trucking. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and visiting with the “windbag to the west” Palmquist. He loved his hunting trips with his boys. He died at his home near Milaca on Thursday, December 20, 2012. Helmut Dietz is survived by his sons, Tom of Milaca, Terry (Vicky) of Princeton, Tim (Maria) of Foreston; daughters, Colleen (Jay) Schott of Exeland, WI, and Lori (Rich) Fischer of Mora; granddaughters, Jerine, Sarah (Travis) Shultz, Teri Klein, Heather and Alexandra Schott, Dakota, Tabitha, Emma, and Kendra Dietz, Randy and Megan Dietz; grandsons, Hunter and Spencer Fischer; great-grandchildren, Kylee, Shelby, Hailey and Kayleb; brother, Robert (Laree) Dietz of Milaca; sister, Hilda (Loren) Fransen of Milaca; also by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Gertrude Dietz, son, Steven and brother, Henry.
