Mass of Christian Burial for Fred Maro, age 92, of Milaca, will be held on Monday, December 31, 2012 at 11 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Milaca with Fr. Jim Remmerswaal, OSC officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Interment will take place at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
Frederich Joseph Maro was born January 7, 1920 in Columbia Heights, MN to Paul and Mary (Bendik) Maro. He served in the US Army for four years during World War II. After completing his service, he returned to Milaca to work on the family dairy farm. While farming he also worked as a TV repairman. He was united in marriage to Pat Brown on June 23, 1979. Fred was a member of the American Legion, VFW and the Knights of Columbus. Fred died on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at the Milaca Elim Home.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Pat; sister, Margaret of Minneapolis; niece, Kathy (Ralph) Thomas of Minneapolis; nephew, David (Cathy) Kuduk, of San Leandro, CA;step-children, Rod (Nancy) Brown, Joan (Bill) Sullinger, June Brown, Patty Caron and George Brown; also by many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Paul, Steve, Ernest and Charles and sister, Mary.
