Marian Mae Anderson

Funeral services for Marian M. Sundsvold Anderson, age 88, of Milaca, will be held Friday, June 07, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Milaca with Rev. Tim Bauer officiating. Visitation will be from 3 - 6 PM Thursday at the Milaca Elim Home Chapel. Serving as casketbearers will be Maria Bengson, Robert Bengson, Molly Schwartz, Jason Schwatz, Heather Sundsvold, and Jason Marudas. Providing music for the service will be Becky Pansch. Interment will take place in the Wendell Hill Cemetery near Milaca. Marian Mae Sundsvold Anderson was born May 16, 1925 to Oscar and Esther (Ledeen) Pearson in Milaca, Minnesota. She graduated from Milaca High School in 1943. Following her graduation, she worked for Allen’s Department Store in Milaca. In 1945, she was united in marriage to Gordon Sundsvold, this same year she began her 49-year career with Milaca Farmer’s Cooperative. After marrying, Gordon and Marian resided on the family dairy farm in Borgholm Township. They retired from farming in 1984, but continued to live on the farm. Shortly after Gordon’s death in 1990, Marian moved to Milaca. In 1997, Marian found the second love of her life and was united in marriage to Donald Anderson. They cherished their time together until Donald’s passing in 1999. Marian was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church for 68 years. She was very proud of her 100% Swedish heritage. She was an excellent cook and baker and loved to prepare food for her family and friends. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Marian was an avid card player. She also had a great sense of humor and loved telling jokes. She spent the last 3 ½ years as a resident of the Milaca Elim Home. She passed away on Monday, June 03, 2013 at the Milaca Elim Home. Marian is survived by her son, Larry (Jean) Sundsvold of International Falls; daughter, Sandra Marudas of Milaca; grandson, Jason (Chantal) Marudas of Milaca; three granddaughters, Maria (Robert) Bengson of Milaca, Heather Sundsvold and fiancé, Justin Ebel of Ash River Trail, and Molly (Jason) Schwartz of Milaca; great grandchildren, Chase and Callie Marudas, Eli Bengson, and Daija, Violet, and Leo Schwartz; step-children, Stella Lang, Jerry Anderson, Charlie (Lynelle) Anderson, Joe Anderson, and Allan (Carla) Anderson; numerous step-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Gordon Sundsvold and Donald Anderson; sisters, Lorraine Anderson and Violet Johnson.
