Graveside services for Elvin Wilson, age 81, of Milaca, formerly of Red Wing, will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2013 at 11 AM at Forest Hill Cemetery in Milaca with Rev. Stephen Blenkush officiating. Military honors will be provided by Hansen-Hayes American Legion Post #178 and Siemers-Hakes VFW Post #10794. Arr. Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home of Milaca.
Elvin Alfred Wilson was born June 17, 1932 in Milaca, MN to A. Hilding and Ester (Weberg) Wilson. He grew up in Milaca and graduated from Milaca High School. Elvin later earned a degree in Agriculture from the South Dakota State University. He was united in marriage to Patricia Walton on July 25, 1960 in Worth County, IA. Elvin worked for the State of Minnesota for many years. He was an active member of the American Legion and served as district commander. He enjoyed tinkering with wood and working on his family tree. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Elvin passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at his home in Milaca.
He is survived by his children, Dawn Wilson of Red Wing, MN, Dean Wilson of Spring Valley, WI, Brenda Wilson of Red Wing, MN and Pamela Flacksbarth of Hastings, MN; grandchildren, Whitney Lawson, Mitchell Wilson, Gage Flacksbarth, Shayle Flacksbarth and Colt Flacksbarth; great-grandchildren, Wyatt Lawson and Gunner Lawson; brother, Denis Wilson; also by many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Patricia and brothers, Merlin and Maurice.
