Harriet "Suzy" Karlson

Memorial service for Harriet “Suzy” Karlson, age 92, of Milaca, will be held on Sunday, September 22, 2013 at 4 PM at Milaca Evangelical Free Church. Interment will take place at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later date. Harriet Adeline Karlson was born December 4, 1920 to Hugh Calvin and Adeline (Stram) Callander in Minneapolis, MN. She grew up in Minneapolis and graduated from North High School in 1939. Suzy worked as an administrative aide for the principal at North High School for over 30 years. She held positions AFSCME Council #6 Local 56 Chapter 3. In retirement, she was active in her home owners association, the Milaca Senior Center and the Milaca Evangelical Free Church. Suzy lived her life to honor her Savior, Jesus Christ. She was dedicated to helping her handicapped son, Joel, even into her 90’s. She loved her family and friends and will be remembered for her sharing and caring attitude. She passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at Milaca Elim Home. She is survived by her son, Calvin Karlson of North Carolina; daughters, Cosette (Daniel) Morgan of Hibbing and Carol (Rick) Hutchins of Osburn, ID; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; also by other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, John; son, Joel.
