A Mass of Christian Burial for Margaret U. Roehl will be held Thursday, October 17, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Louis Catholic Church in Foreston with Father James Remmerswaal, OSC, officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at the Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home with a rosary service taking place at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to services at the church. Serving as casketbearers will include Shawn Turner, Brian Turner, Josh Nelson, Doug Nelson, Ryan Lunn, Greg Elsner, Nathan Roehl, and Alec Roehl. Interment will take place in the church cemetery. Margaret Ursula Roehl was born June 12, 1922 to Alexander and Mary Ann (Biederman) Brunn. She attended the Saint Cloud Teacher’s College and graduated in 1942. After graduating from teacher’s college, she taught at several surrounding one-room country schools. She was united in marriage to William Roehl on June 17, 1947 at Saint Louis Catholic Church. She took some time off to raise eight children and then renewed her teaching certificate and taught again at Wildwood Country School and Milaca Elementary School. She was noted for her Sunday chicken dinners, pink applesauce, homemade baked bread, hamburger goulash, and bread and butter pickles. She was an avid reader and she also enjoyed playing rummy royal with her grandkids. Margaret was a member of the Christian Mothers at Saint Louis and the McKinley Homemaker’s Group. Margaret passed away Monday, October 14, 2013 at the Milaca Elim Home at the age of 91 years, 4 months, and 2 days. Margaret is survived by her husband of 66 years, William, of Milaca; children, Barb (Steve) Turner of Buffalo, Ted (Kathy) Roehl of Foreston, Diane (Duane) Nelson of Ramsey, Rose (Jay) Lunn of Cambridge, LuAnn (Ron) Elsner of Coon Rapids, Chuck Roehl of Milaca, John Roehl of Foley, Doris (Ron) Brandt of Sioux Falls, SD;19 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Jim Brunn of Great Falls, MT; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; 3 brothers; 7 sisters; and daughter-in-law, Deb Roehl.
