John William Ziegler

Funeral services for John W. Ziegler, age 75, of Milaca, will be held Friday, November 01, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home in Milaca with Rev. Joe Boeringa officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior to services. Military Honors will be by the Hansen-Hayes American Legion Post #178 and Siemers-Hakes VFW Post #10794. John William Ziegler was born June 30, 1938 to Clem and Margaret (Sippel) Ziegler in Easton, Minnesota. He graduated from Delavan High School . He was united in marriage to LaVon Alich on November 04, 1966 in South Dakota John owned a shoe repair shop, worked for Crystal Cabinets, and drove bus for Sue’s Bus Service. He also farmed for many years in the Milaca area. John was a proud Army veteran. He was an avid fan of local and NASCAR racing. He also enjoyed snowmobiling, spending time with family, friends, and his grandchildren. He passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at Ecumen Health Services in North Branch. He is survived by his wife of 47 years LaVon; two sons, Adam Ziegler (Vickie Love) of Sonora, Kentucky and Aaron Ziegler (Laura Charchian) of Elk River; five grandchildren, Katie Ziegler, Jack Ziegler, Julia Ziegler, Grayson Ziegler, and Elizabeth Ziegler; sisters, Rosemary Larson of Rochester and Jean Miller of Brooklyn Center; brothers, Ed (Betty) Ziegler of Delavan and Tony (Peggy) Ziegler from Easton; many nieces, nephews, countless other relatives and friends. John was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Joe; and sister, Helen.
