Florence Siegersma, age 79, of Milaca, passed away on Friday, December 6, 2013 at the Princeton Elim Home. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 10 AM at First Baptist Church in Milaca.
Florence Vivian Siegersma was born September 29, 1934 to Arthur and Lillie (Daugherty) Taylor in Dickens, Iowa. Her first job, at age 18, was a telephone operator for Northwestern Bell. She later worked in the business offices of NWB and at Milaca High School as a paraprofessional. Florence worked for many years at Fogel Chiropractic and Milaca Chiropractic Clinic where she handled insurance and billing until her retirement at the age of 72. Florence was a member of the First Baptist Church in Milaca for close to 59 years. Florence enjoyed creative hobbies and had an artistic sense, which brought many wonders to her family in her painting, collections, needlework, cooking and gardens.
She is survived by her daughter, Jeanne (Bill) Virant; son, Steven (Kathy) Nelson; grandchildren: Nicholas (Shannon) Nelson, Milan (Jenna) Virant, Jess (Fred) Stock;
great-grandchildren, Landon Nelson and Lucas Nelson; first husband, Robert Nelson; siblings, Wally Taylor, Hazel Griffith, Colleen Leonard, Alpharetta Palaschak, Jacquelleen Vatne and Arthur Taylor. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Wanda Dryzcimski, and husband, Loren Siegersma.
