Funeral services for Rose Jordan, age 82, of Milaca, will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at 10 AM at Milaca Evangelical Free Church with Rev. Dan Clausen and Rev. Don Matheson officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Milaca. Visitation will be from 5 – 8 PM Wednesday at Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home in Milaca and 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Rose M. Oedekoven was born on June 7, 1931 to Albert and Ella Oedekoven in Sturgis, South Dakota. She was the youngest of eight children. She attended high school in Sturgis and attended business college in Denver, Colorado. She was united in marriage to Clarence Jordan on November 9, 1951 at the Grace Lutheran Church in Sturgis. To this union was born one daughter, Deborah. In 1963, Clarence and Rose moved to Milaca MN. Rose was employed by Milaca Area Hospital in the bookkeeping department and later at Milaca Elim Home where she was an administrative assistant until 1992 when she retired. At the Elim home she was known for her love, care, and concern for others. Rose was also active in the Milaca Evangelical Free Church and as a leader in the Milaca Christian Women’s Club. She loved her family and friends and most of all her Lord Jesus Christ. She passed away on December 15, 2013 at the age of 82. She is survived by her daughter, Deborah (Thomas) Krauel of Ogilvie; grandchildren, Melissa (Nathan) Brink of Lindstrom, Mary (Craig) Schafer of Chanhassen, Mike (Sarah) Krauel of St. Cloud; great-grandchildren, Aaron, Caleb and Lydia Brink and Benjamin and Hannah Krauel; one brother, Allen (Hannah) Oedekoven; one sister, Doris Williamson; one sister-in–law, Carolyn Oedekoven; also by many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence; parents, Albert and Ella Oedekoven; brothers, Vernon , Arthur, Myron and Standly Oedekoven and one sister, Lena Adams.
