Jane Ann (Holmer) Johnson was born September 6, 1934 to William and Edith (Berglund) Holmer in Minneapolis, MN. Jane grew up in Milaca and graduated high school in 1952. She married Lyle Johnson and had four children, Mike, Greg, Terry, and Nancy. Jane was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, and was a member of a circle who would help out when called upon to make bake goods for funerals. She worked for over 30 years at Olson's Super Valu and knew many people in Milaca through her job. You could count on being met with a smile, laughter, or a funny comment.
Jane loved to go fishing, watch and feed her birds, walk her dog, Digger, and play bingo with her sister-in-law, Marilyn Holmer. She also liked to garden and made the best zucchini bread, and caramel rolls ever. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and frying fish for everyone. She passed on the love of the outdoors to her family from many enjoyable gatherings at Janet Lake, Wilkins Lake, and finally living on Gull Lake north of Bemidji, where she was able to continue all of her hobbies. She loved watching the Minnesota Twins and other sports, especially, her own children, and then her grandchildren when they played. Family was always so important to her. She did a great job of keeping in touch with her big family, her husband’s family, and her children and grandchildren. Jane passed away on March 11th with her family by her side.
She is survived by children, Mike Johnson of Bemidji, Greg (Jodie) Johnson of Park Rapids, Terry Johnson (special friend Nancy Berge) of Bemidji and Nancy (Steve) Bade of Park Rapids; grandchildren, Chelsea Johnson, Rilee Johnson, Allie Bade, Drew Bade and Matthew Bade; siblings, Ken Holmer, Jim Holmer, Bob Holmer, Larry (Marilyn) Holmer, Joyce (Roy) Miller and Marian (John) Stromquist; sister-in-law, Millie Holmer; also by many nieces and nephews.
