Memorial service for Sandra Vedders, age 72, of Milaca, will be held on Saturday, May 31st at 10:30 AM at the Christian Reformed Church in Pease with Pastor Michael Ten Haken officiating. Interment will follow at Pease Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 – 8 PM Friday at the Christian Reformed Church in Pease and 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
Sandra Kaye Vedders was born August 8, 1941 to Norman and Marian (Lyndgaard) Berger in Tyler, MN. She graduated from Lake Benton High School. The day after graduation, she moved to Minneapolis and began working for Lutheran Brotherhood. She married Clint Vedders on January 2, 1965. In the following years, she worked for Target Corporation in the buying department, Graybow Daniels, ECM, Milaca Machine & Tool, Pease Produce and CDI. Clint and Sandy started their married life in Golden Valley before moving to Albertville and then settling in Milaca, where she was a member of the Pease Christian Reformed Church. Sandy enjoyed golfing, camping, reading, crocheting, playing cards and spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed being a winter Texan for the last seven years. She always had a friendly smile for everyone, but the biggest smiles were for her grandkids. Sandy passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 after battling cancer.
She is survived by her husband, Clint; daughter, Michele (Lowell) Herbst of Foreston; grandchildren, Carter and Avery Herbst; sister, Margo (Mike) Willert of Ivanhoe, MN; sister-in-law, Sharon (Virgil) Minks of Milaca; brothers-in-law, Lee Vedders of Mankato, Don (Robin) Vedders of Taylor, SC, Paul Vedders of Mora, Harvey (Shelly) Vedders of Milaca, Terry (Suzette) Vedders of Milaca and Phil (Debbie) Vedders of Princeton; also by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Sandy was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Shari (Berger) Vedders and brother, Brent Berger.
