Emma Jane Ingeborg Chesney

Memorial service for Emma Jane Ingeborg Chesney, age 91, of Milaca, will be held on Friday, June 6, 2014 at 11 AM at Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Sahlstrom officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday. Emma Jane Ingeborg Chesney was born November 9, 1922 to Oscar Bernhard and Bertha Magdeline (Sandeen) Eli in Borgholm Township, MN. She married Victor Chesney on May 17, 1952 at Popple Creek, MN. They made their home in Popple Creek and later in Pasco, WA and The Dalles, OR. They later returned to Milaca and Emma worked at Milaca Mills and Gorecki Manufacturing. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, canning her own food, playing cards, crocheting and sewing and spending time with family and friends. She passed away on Friday, May 23rd at Milaca Elim Home with her family by her side. She is survived by daughter, Lynda Sjoberg of Milaca; grandchildren, Jason Bleichner of Milaca, Scot Bleichner of Princeton and Amanda Sjoberg of Milaca; sister, Maxine Laudert of Milaca; brother, Aldon Eli of Elko, NV; also by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor; her parents, Oscar and Bertha; sister, Mirinda and brothers, Kenneth, Burnette, Oscar Jr., Vallard and Ronald.
