Memorial service for Louisa M. Stark, age 94, of Milaca, will be held on Wednesday, August 27th at 1:30 PM at the Milaca Elim Home Chapel with Rev. Tom Sahlstrom officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the Elim Home Chapel.
Louisa “Sis” M. Stark was born October 16, 1919 in Milaca, MN to August and Mildred (Brown) Bork. She attended Whitney Brook Country School until the 8th grade. She was united in marriage to Lennart Stark on October 5, 1941. Sis worked at Fingerhut in St. Cloud for more than twenty years and was a proud commuter van driver for them. She loved to take drives in her own car, well into her eighties and her family will always remember her lead foot. Louisa will also be remembered by her family for her spunk and wry sense of humor. Through the years, she loved caring for her grandchildren and working on the family farm, especially raising chickens. She enjoyed knitting, gardening, eating out, shopping, playing computer solitaire, and bird watching. She passed away on Thursday, August 21st at Fairview Northland Medical Center in Princeton.
She is survived by her children, Janet Marsden, Jerry (Judy) Stark, Janice (Henry) Berg and Jim Stark; grandchildren, Mike Marsden, Shelly Remington, Lisa Byker, Jerry Berg, Kristin Berg, Marcia Lasky and Larry Stark; great-grandchildren, Allen Marsden, Ashley Felde, Amanda Walker, Harrison and Mazie Lasky and Syxten Stark; great-great-grandson, Jase Felde; also by many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, August and Mildred; husband, Lennart Stark; siblings, Sid (Beth) Bork, Idell Baker, Florence Wheeler, Fern Scherrer; grandsons, Jason Stark and Tony Frier and son-in-law, Chuck Marsden.
