Bonnie Kaun

Bonnie Lee (Vedders) Kaun was born on February 23, 1947 to Hank and Flo (Kiel) Vedders in Milaca, MN. She attended Pease Christian School and graduated from Milaca High School. After graduation she married Alvin Ploeger on June 25, 1965 and had 4 children. They farmed and worked as janitors for the church. Bonnie worked as a waitress and at the Droogsma Locker in Princeton. After her divorce in 1981 she worked at Land O’ Lakes in Milaca. She was united in marriage to Bruce Kaun on February 20, 1988 and together they owned and operated the Kaun Floral and Funeral Home in Princeton until 1996. Bonnie was a two time breast cancer survivor. Bonnie retired from Boston Scientific in January of 2014 after 19 years. Bonnie enjoyed bowling, golfing, gardening and especially loved watching her grandchildren in their sports events and school programs. She loved to travel and was not one to sit at home for long. She was an avid reader and loved sharing her books with people. Bonnie died on Sunday, August 24, 2014 at her home in Milaca at the age of 67 years 6 months and 1 day. She is survived by children, Chad (Sarah) Ploeger of Milaca, Cory (Leslie) Ploeger of Milaca, Todd (Melissa) Ploeger of Plevna, MT, Tara (Trey) Hoverson of Naples, FL, grandchildren, Jordan (Angelo) Calayag, Zachary, Gretchen, Alexandra, Jerica, Caleb, and Anika Ploeger and Hayden and Holten Hoverson, mother, Florence (Flo) Vedders of Milaca, one sister, Penny (Mike) VanMaanen of Cypress, CA, 3 brothers, Dusty (Pat) Vedders of Milaca, Carl (Marlys) Vedders of Hastings and Doug (Debbie) Vedders of Milaca and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father Henry (Hank) Vedders and sister, Barbara Vedders. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, August 30, 2014 at the Christian Reformed Church of Pease with Rev. Michael Ten Haken officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Music will be provided by Redeemed, Leslie Ploeger and Zachary Ploeoger. The grandchildren will serve as casketbearers. Friends may call from 4 to 8 a.m. Friday at the Pease Church.
