Jeanette Alice Evans

Funeral service for Jan Evans, age 76, of Pine City, will be held on Wednesday, September 24th at 2 PM at Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home in Milaca. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Wednesday. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Milaca. Jeanette Alice Evans was born June 14, 1938 to Alfred and Bernice (Hunter) Baker in Onamia, MN. She graduated from West High School. Jan was united in marriage to John Evans on May 31, 1962 in South Dakota. The couple made their home in Eagle Lake and Minnetonka. In 1968, they moved to the Mora area and later to North Branch. Jan drove school bus for many years in Mora and North Branch. In 1992, they moved to Rock Creek near Pine City, MN. She passed away on Saturday, September 20th in Ogilvie, MN with her friends and the caring staff at the assisted living. She is survived by daughters, Naomi (Tom) Connolly of Holyoke, Natalie Evans (Joe Helmbrecht) of Rock Creek, Natrishia (Daune) Evans-Westlund of Wisconsin and Nicole Evans (Bryan Kottschade) of Cambridge; grandchildren, Josh, Chris, Jake and Kaylee; great-grandchildren, Madysen, Vander and Lane; many step-grandchildren; she also raised many foster boys and group home girls; siblings, Marilyn, Lou and Larry; also by many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John in 2007 and brothers, Alfred and Milton. She will be missed.
