Doris Faye Peterman

Funeral service for Doris Peterman, age 85, of Milaca, will be held on Monday, October 6th at 11 AM at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Ogilvie with Rev. Marc Freiberg officiating. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 - 4 PM on Sunday at Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home in Milaca and 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Doris passed away on Thursday, October 2nd at Milaca Elim Home. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers. Doris Faye Peterman was born July 30, 1929 in Ellsworth, Kansas to Rudolph and Hulda (Haase) Nienke. She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Ellworth, Kansas. She was united in marriage to Leonard John Peterman in Ellsworth on February 26, 1950, to this union six children were born. They traveled the country following pipeline jobs until settling in the Milaca area in 1960, where they farmed, raising angus cattle. Doris enjoyed many hobbies including painting, quilting, gardening, sewing, and music. She was very artistic, and always found beauty in things. She enjoyed card games with Leonard and the neighbors. She had a joking and cheerful personality. Doris died Thursday, October 02, 2014 at the Milaca Elim Home. She is survived by her children, Melinda (Cliff) Senlycki of Princeton, Peggy Peterman of Saint Cloud, Wesley (Janie) Peterman of Ogilvie, Sally Peterman of Baldwin, WI, Daniel (Kim) Peterman of Peosta, IA, and Joel (Melissa) Peterman of Milaca; ten grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; siblings, Betty Pflughoeft of Colorado, Edith Kohls of Salina, KS, Hulda Jean Bricker of Ellsworth, KS, Velma Perez of Gypsum, KS and Lois Holtz of Salina, KS; sisters-in-law, Jean Nienke of Kansas and Mona Peterman of Ellsworth, KS; also by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard; brother, Leonard; sister, Berneita; grandson, Waylon Senlycki and a stillborn granddaughter.
