Shirley Ellen (Lundstrom) Siemers, age 82, passed away peacefully at her home on November 26, 2014 surround by her family. Visitation services will be held on Sunday, November 30, from 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church in Milaca. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, December 1, 2014 at 11 am at Trinity Lutheran Church in Milaca. Interment will immediately follow the service at Forest Hill Cemetery in Milaca.
Shirley was born in Milaca, Minnesota on November 14, 1932 to Roy and Louise (Dethloff) Lundstrom. She met the love of her life, Wayne Siemers, while working as a popcorn girl at the Milaca movie theater. Wayne and Shirley were married on January 21, 1950, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Milaca and to this union six children were born. She and her husband started Wayne Transports, Inc in 1951, where she was the first dispatcher for many years. Shirley and Wayne enjoyed spending their winters in Florida. If you stopped at her home at “coffee time” you were greeted with coffee, homemade cookies, pies and cinnamon rolls. The most important part of her life was spending time with her kids and grandchildren and friends where love, laughter, fun and adventure were never in short supply.
Shirley is survived by her children, Mike and wife Jean of Nisswa, Mary Kiel and friend Brian Chesney of Milaca, Mark and wife Carol of Inver Grove Heights, Marlys and husband Carl Vedders of Hastings, Wes “Inky” and wife Sue of Milaca, and Diane Siemers of Milaca; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; brother, Loren Lundstrom and wife Diane of Henderson, NV, sister, Julie and husband Dick Irvin of St. Michael, MN, and sister, Linda and husband Tom Kvamme of Milaca; also by many nieces, nephews and many friends. Shirley was preceded in death by husband, Wayne Alton Siemers (2007), her granddaughter, Kelly Siemers (1997), her brothers, Ivan Lundstrom (2007), David Lundstrom (2011), her sister Bonnie Dietz (1985), her mother, Louise Lundstrom (1967) and her father, Roy Lundstrom (1973).
