Duane Maxam, age 89, passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at Princeton Elim Home. No services will be held at this time. Duane Chester Maxam was born August 22, 1925 in Silverwood, MI to Chester and Charlotte (Ball) Maxam. He grew up in Michigan and graduated from Kingston High School. Duane moved to Indiana and worked as a manager for Pure Seal Dairy for twenty-three years. He later moved back to Michigan and drove truck for a lumber company for a few years. In 1975, he moved to Milaca, MN and was united in marriage to Joy Hammill. Duane worked at the Princeton Coop and Chevrolet Garage in Princeton until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially ice fishing at Lake of the Woods. He is survived by daughters, Sandra (Carl) Vessels and Karol Peacock both of Hodgenville, KY; ten grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Beverly Powers of Columbia, SC and Janice (Carlton) Litzke of Chucky, TN; four step-children; daughter-in-law, Monica Olson of New Richland, MN; ex-wife, Irene Roller; also by many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Hazel, ex-wife, Joy, two brothers and a sister.
