Marie Lillian Secord

Funeral services for Marie Secord, age 87, of Milaca, will be held on Monday, March 9th at 11 AM at Zion Lutheran Church in Milaca with Rev. Stephen Blenkush officiating. Interment will follow at Borgholm Cemetery near Bock. Visitation will be from 2- 4 PM on Sunday at Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home in Milaca and 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Marie Lillian Secord was born August 28, 1927 in Borgholm Township, MN to Henry and Lillian (Johnson) Lundberg. She graduated from Milaca High School 1945 and attended Business College in St. Cloud. She was united in marriage to Darrell Secord August 29, 1948 in St. Cloud. Marie and Darrell lived in the Monticello area before moving to Milaca in 1952, where they farmed in Borgholm Township. Early on Marie managed the farm and raised their boys while Darrell worked out-of-town. Later she cared for the newborn calves, which she was awarded the 4-H Foster Mother award. They also owned Secord's Bar and Grill in Bock. After Darrell passed away in 1989, she moved into Milaca where she led a very active social life. She served as treasurer and did bookkeeping for several community organizations. She loved playing cards, bowling, gardening, dancing and traveling. She was a member of 4-H, Garden Club, Bridge Club, Senior Center, Esther Circle at Zion Lutheran Church, Milaca Legion Auxiliary. She is survived by her children, Roger (Linda) Secord of Ogilvie, Bruce (Sandy) Secord of Milaca and Larry (Judy) Secord of Zimmerman; grandchildren, Tina (Marty) Stob, Rebecca Webeck, Steven (Ahren) Secord, Shawna Secord, Jennifer (Bryan) Weller, Dannielle (Jacob) Sallblad and Deanna Secord; great-grandchildren, John Stob, Tyler Wright, Riley Wright, Evan Secord, Aliza Secord, Abel Weller and Audrey Weller; sisters-in-law, Elaine Wipper, Vi Secord, Bernice Secord and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded by her parents, husband, Darrell, brother, Edward Lundberg, sister, Geneva Kinnetz and brothers-in-law, Gordon Wipper, Arnold Secord, Virgil Secord and Len Kinnetz.
