Funeral services for Tillie Pluimer, age 92, of Milaca, will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at 1 PM at First Baptist Church in Milaca with Rev. Adrian Bolt officiating. Interment will follow at Pease Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
Tillie Eerdmans Pluimer, age 92, of Milaca passed away on April 3, 2015 at the Milaca Elim Home. She was born on the family farm near Pease, MN on July 3,1922, the youngest child of Johannes (Joe) and Anna (Bootsma) Eerdmans. Her family moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan for a short period when she was four years of age. In the 1940s, Tillie worked at Zondervan Publishing in Grand Rapids and also in Chicago before returning to Pease where she married her sweetheart of many years, Don Pluimer on May 24, 1946. After a brief stay in Princeton, they moved to Milaca in 1947 where they raised their five children. Tillie was a dedicated, active member of her church and loved playing the piano and organ in church and at home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, five sisters, infant son and husband Don. Tillie is survived by her five children; Michael (Roseann) Pluimer of Bloomington, Jim (Mary) Pluimer of Milaca, Becky (Doug) McAtee of Phoenix, AZ, Kristi (Bruce) Pluimer Nyquist of Hopkins, Larry (Asha) Pluimer of Bainbridge Island, WA, four grandchildren: Enik (Erin) Pluimer, Justin McAtee, Kyle McAtee, Tomie Gonda, and three great-grandchildren: Ethan, Allie, and Sam Pluimer.
