A memorial service for Loraine Gladys Kiel, age 94, of Milaca, will be held Thursday, April 09, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Milaca with Rev. Dale Clifton officiating. Interment will take place in the Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
Loraine Gladys Kiel was born to Harry and Gertrude (Anderson) Halverson on November 12, 1920 at the Riverside Community near Milaca, Minnesota. She attended Riverside Country School and then North Central Bible Institute. She was united in marriage to Steve Kiel on March 31, 1951 at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Parsonage in Milaca.
Loraine worked at Bloom Ease Slipper Company in North Minneapolis and also at the Milaca Mills. She was an active member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church. She enjoyed cooking, baking, hospitality, reading, doing crossword puzzles, flowers, and Gull Lake. She loved the Lord her God and spent much of her time reading the Bible and in prayer. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and nanny. She passed away Sunday, April 05, 2015 at the Milaca Elim Home.
She is survived by children, Linda (Kirk) Richards of Amarillo, Texas, Cindy (Kerry) DeBoer of Milaca, Jeff (Jo) Kiel of Cambridge Springs, Pennsylvania, and Jill (Steve) Yentsch of Owatonna; grandchildren, Katy, Joel, Jonathan, Gretchen, Nathan, Jenna and Tyler; great-grandchildren, Clara, and Margot; other relatives and friends.
Loraine was preceded in death by parents, husband, Steve, brothers and sisters, Lloyd, Don, Anita, Harriet, Bob, Jim, and Marvin.
