Fern Marie Evans

Funeral services for Fern Evans will be held on Monday, December 29, 2008 at 10 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Milaca with Rev. Tom Sahlstrom officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Interment will follow at Moose Lake Township Cemetery near Pennington, MN. Fern Marie Evans was born February 17, 1928 in Dent, MN to Sigmund and Anna Eggerth. She grew up and attended school in Dent, MN. She later moved to Minneapolis to live with her sister and there she met Ted Evans. They were married on October 31, 1945. They lived for many years in northeast Minneapolis and later moved to Mounds View. After retirement, Fern and Ted moved to Pennington, MN. Ted died in 1993 and Fern moved to Milaca to be closer to her family. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Milaca. Fern enjoyed gardening, quilting, bird watching, doing puzzles and spending time with her family. She died on Wednesday, December 24, 2008 at the Milaca Elim Home at the age of 80 years, 2 months and 7 days. She is survived by her daughters, Nancy Engebretsen of Foreston and Lynn (Mark) Van Ort of Milaca; grandchildren, Lisa Heide, Jerry Engebretsen, Amber Van Ort, Nathan Van Ort and Christina Van Ort; great-grandson, Brandon Heide; sister, Pearl Erickson of Circle Pines; also by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ted; sons, Wayne and Mike Evans and 11 siblings.
