Robert Joel Holter

Robert Holter, age 65, of Foreston, died December 27, 2008. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at 11 AM at Zion Lutheran Church in Milaca with Rev. Stephen Blenkush and Rev. Jon Olson. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM on Tuesday at Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home in Milaca. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Milaca. Casketbearers will include Erik Peterson, Aaron Jensen, Eric Graham, Josh Graham, Zachary Swenson and Calvin Holter. Arr. Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home of Milaca. Robert Joel Holter was born November 14, 1943 in St. Cloud, MN to Selmer and Lois (Shapansky) Holter. He grew up in Glendorado Township and attended District 11 country school and graduated from Foley High School in 1961. He married Mary Kuffell in Gilman, MN in 1967 and they had two sons, Joel and Scott. All three of them preceded Robert in death. Robert married Mavis Meixell Foss in 1982 in Princeton, MN. He worked in construction for Northwest General Services in Elk River for 20 years. He was a member of the 49ers Operators Union. He was also very proficient with a backhoe. He enjoyed collecting and fixing tractors. He also loved kids and attended WE Fest for 25 years in a row. He is survived by his wife, Mavis; father, Selmer of Foley; granddaughter, Kim Willis of Onamia; great-granddaughter, Molly; brothers, Gordon Holter of Houston, MN, Duane Holter of Mora, Janice Anderson of Princeton, Phyllis Brunn of Osseo, Marilyn Graham of Foreston, Nancy Swenson of Bena and Linda Weimerslage of Michigan; step-children, Debra Peterson of Lake Park, MN, Kym Schwab of Milaca, Kenneth Foss of Milaca and DeDe Johnson of Princeton; 15 additional grandchildren; 10 additional great-grandchildren; also by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; sons, Joel and Scott, mother, Lois and brothers, Dale and Ronald.
