A memorial service will be held on Friday January 9th at 11am at Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home in Milaca with a visitation one hour prior to the service.
Lavina Catherine Sengbusch was born May 13th 1926 to Anthony and Edith (Collinson) Jandl of Kossuth County Iowa.
Lavina grew up in Titonka Iowa and graduated from high school in 1943. After high school she spent a short time in Washington D.C. on an internship with the FBI before returning to Algona Iowa.
She united in marriage to George William Sengbusch on January 26th 1946 in Fairmont Minnesota. In 1957 the couple moved to the Milaca area.
Lavina loved the farm that she and George created together. She was an amazing storyteller and loved telling stories about her life. Lavina enjoyed watching the birds outside her kitchen window and taking care of the many cats that had come to call the Sengbusch farm “Home”. Lavina cherished spending time with her family and friends, especially her great grandchildren.
She is survived by sons Darwin of Milaca, Gary and (Sharon) of Austin Texas; 5 grandchildren; Bill, Michelle, Brianne and (James) Becker, Holly and Tony; 3 great grandchildren; Caleb, Hailey and Bradyn; Sister; Loreen Brock. Lavina is also survived by many other loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by husband George; parents, Anthony and Edith Jandl; brothers and sisters Robert, Anthony Jr., Eugene, Alvina, Elda and Edith; daughter-in-law Barbara.
