Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 16, 2009 at 1 PM at Milaca Assembly of God with Rev. Brynn Harms and Rev. Bruce Tessen officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Milaca. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
Musicwill be provided by Paul Neslund. Casketbearers will be Jacob Wills, Andy Wills, Ben Wills, Alex Styrbicki, Justin Holinka and Joe Cody. Honorary casketbearers will be Matt Wills, Dan Wills, Jared Hoyt and Brian Cody. Greeters will be Jennifer Holinka, Madison Styrbicki and Marlyn and Marlys Wolbert.
Gerald “Jerry” Jacobson was born February 26, 1935 in St. Louis Park, MN to Wallace and Hildur (Peterson) Jacobson. He attended St. Louis Park High School graduating in 1953. He went on to graduate from the University of Minnesota. He married Joanne “Joni” Johnson in Bloomington, MN. Jerry was the Vice President in charge of information for Master’s Life Insurance Company. Jerry and Joni moved to Milaca in 1985. Jerry owned and operated Central Graphics Printing in Milaca until his retirement. He went home to the Lord on Tuesday, January 13, 2009. Jerry was anointed by God to share and teach His word. God was drawing him back to the uncompromised Word of God, with hours of daily studying. He loved his weekly times of teaching at the Mille Lacs County Jail and loved to men he served there. He also did Sunday services with as Joni ministered to the men. His passion was to serve God in a deeper way and he looked forward to seeing what his next assignment would be.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 43 years, Joni; daughters, Debora (Denny) Hoyt of Ames, IA, Susan (John) Styrbicki of Edina, MN, Sandie (Dale) Cody of Rosemount, MN, Debra (Phil) Holinka of Springfield, IL and Cheryl (Randy) Wills of Mankato, MN; grandchildren, Jacob (Christi) Wills, Andy (Jenna) Wills, Ben Wills, Matt Wills, Dan Wills, Jared Hout, Alex Styrbicki, Madison Styrbicki, Jennifer Holinka, Justin Holinka, Brian Cody and Joe Cody; great-grandchildren, Jonah Wills and Addison Wills; sister, Jan (Bill) Ludwick of Sun City, AZ; aunts, Florence Peterson of Osseo, Ruth Wells of Kansas City, KS, Elaine Weisgerber of St. Cloud; also by many cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Christopher Hoyt.
