Memorial services for Marian Lazorik, age 93, of Milaca, formerly of Richfield, will be held on Monday, August 10, 2015 at 11 AM Zion Lutheran Church in Milaca with Rev. Tim Bauer officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Interment will take place at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later date.
Marian Esther Lazorik was born March 21, 1922 near Onamia, to Joseph and Katrina (Olson) Youngberg. She grew up on a farm near Onamia and graduated from Milaca High School. Marian worked in Milaca until she married Mike Lazorik on October 16, 1943 in Minneapolis. The couple made their home in Minneapolis and Marian worked as a bank teller. After Mike’s death in 1977, she returned to Milaca, where she enjoyed spending time with her siblings and family. In her retirement years, Marian enjoyed painting, reading books, playing cards and doing puzzles. She passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at Milaca Elim Home.
She is survived by sons, David (Ginger) Lazorik of Shoreview and Robert (Jackie) Lazorik of Madison, WI; grandchildren, Brian Lazorik, Caitlin (Ryan) Gillespie, Jack Lazorik, Tom Lazorik and Joe Lazorik; also by many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Mike; sisters, Pearl Hogle, Anne Wilken and Irene Johnson; brothers, Ted Youngberg and Warren Youngberg.
