Funeral services for Lois Cooper, age 83, of Milaca, will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at 11 AM at Milaca Evangelical Free Church with Rev. Mike Johnson officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM Monday at the Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home in Milaca. A private interment will take place at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later date. Memorials preferred to Evangelical Free Church of Milaca.
Lois Marie Cooper died Friday February 13th, 2009. She had been living
at Elim/Country Meadows Care Center in Milaca. Lois was born November 9th, 1925 in Redfield, South Dakota and raised by foster parents Fred and Helena Heismeyer. She graduated from Estelline, South Dakota High School as the class valedictorian. Lois was united in marriage to Ray Cooper on December 10th, 1943. To this union six children were born, Diana, Michael, Dennis, Barbara, Connie and Lori. In 1970 Ray and Lois moved from White Bear Lake to the Milaca area. Lois worked at various jobs and was a very active member of the Milaca Evangelical Free Church.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband Ray and daughter Diana. She
is survived by her children, Michael and wife Mary Ann Cooper of Forest Lake, Dennis Cooper of Spring Lake Park, Barbara and husband Greg Christian of Scotts Bluff,NE, Connie and husband Ron Fracier of Billings, MT and Lori and husband Todd Hoffman of Milaca; 14 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren;
1 great-great grandchild; 2 sisters, Helen and Ethel; and many friends and relatives.
