Memorial services for Robert Hayes, age 78, of Bock, formerly of the Anoka area, will be held at 11 AM on Monday, March 16, 2009 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Princeton. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Arr. Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home of Milaca.
Robert LeRoy Hayes was born July 21, 1930 in Valentine, NE to Warren and Martha (Love) Hayes. He grew up and attended school in Nebraska. He married Maxine Davis in 1958 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Golden Valley, MN. They lived in the Anoka area for several years before moving to a farm north of Bock in 1972. Bob worked for many years as a cement mason and in later years worked for Sue’s Bus Service in Bock. Bob loved training horses. He was the president of the Anoka Saddle Club. He was also active in 4-H and served on the Mille Lacs County Fair Board for 19 years. He died at his home near Bock on Wednesday, March 11, 2009.
He is survived by his wife, Maxine (Davis); daughters, Kim Adamaley and Kelly Hayes; sons, Keith and wife Barb, Aaron and friend Krista, Kevin and wife Terri, Rex and friend Connie, Jason and friend Leann, Wade and partner Brian, Rob, John and wife Cathy and Henry and wife Sherri; sisters, Barb and Sheryl; brother, Jim and wife Ruth; also by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Harlan, three brothers and one sister.
