Funeral services for Suzanne Brinks, age 90, of Princeton, formerly of Milaca, will be held on Monday, March 23, 2009 at 11 AM at the Christian Reformed Church in Pease with Rev. David Smit and Rev. Dan Osborn officiating. Interment will follow at the Pease Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM on Sunday and 1 hour prior to the services on Monday at the Christian Reformed Church in Pease.
Suzanne Brinks was born October 29, 1918 to Claus and Minnie (Kooistra) Zuidema in Milaca, MN. She married H. Ralph Brinks on June 9, 1939. The newlyweds worked at the George Alderink General Store until 1941 when they bought a farm near Pease. In 1984, Ralph and Sue moved to the Milaca Townhouses and enjoyed living by the Rum River. In 2000, they moved to the Caley House in Princeton and later to the Princeton Elim Home. Ralph preceded Sue in death in 2008. Ralph and Sue enjoyed many years of traveling, including thirty-five years of being “snow-birds” in California with their daughter Kathy and family. Ralph and Sue were Gideons for 37 years and Sue was a life long member of the Christian Reformed Church in Pease. She died on Thursday, March 19, 2009 at the Princeton Elim Home.
She is survived by her children, Curtis and wife Shirley of Maple Grove, MN, Kathy and husband Dennis Warren of Long Beach, CA, Rachel and husband Don Trimble of White Bear Township, MN and Lois and husband Tim Roelofs of Milaca, MN; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Jennie Rensenbrink of Milaca and Hazel Eerdmans of Cambridge; also by many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; sisters, Alice Strating and Bessie Rensenbrink and brother, Peter Zuidema.
